Costanza Alegiani — Italy

Where folk roots, contemporary jazz, and fearless experimentation meet. 🎶

Costanza Alegiani is an Italian jazz singer, composer, lyricist, and music educator whose distinctive voice explores the space between traditional folk music, contemporary jazz, and avant-garde sound experimentation.

In 2017, she founded the Folkways Trio with tenor saxophonist Marcello Allulli and double bassist Riccardo Gola. Drawing inspiration from American folk music and traditional ballads, the trio released its debut album, Folkways, in 2021 through Parco della Musica Records. Her wider discography also includes Lucio dove vai? and Grace in Town, reflecting her interest in reimagining songs through a deeply personal lens.

Alegiani has performed as a soloist with the National Youth Jazz Talents Orchestra and collaborated with ensembles including the Paolo Damiani Sextet, while appearing on stages across Europe’s jazz scene, including the Roccella Jazz Festival.

Her music places storytelling and poetry at its core, combining intimate acoustic expression with contemporary electronic and synthesizer sounds.
