Dalia Farid holds a Postgraduate degree in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in London as well as a BA in Political Science from the American University in Cairo. She is currently working on her Master’sDegree in Music Psychology in Education, Performance and Wellbeing with the University of Sheffield. She has performed as a soloist in the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland, L’Oratoire du Louvre in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Cairo Ope a House, the Library of Alexandria Theatre, The Gomhouria Theatre, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London & the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin as well as many other cultural institutions.
Dalia participated in masterclasses with opera legend Tom Krause in addition to Csilla Boross and Eija Tolpo as well as Musical Theatre giants Andrew Lippa and Jeremy Sams.
After finishing her studies in London she returned to Cairo to take part in the musical scene in her hometown. In 2014 she directed & choreographed a musical theatre showcase “We Got Rhythm” with Fabrica, Egypt's musical theatre company. Dalia also regularly performs with the exceptional blind girls’ orchestra, Al Nour Wal Amal “Light and Hope” orchestra. She choreographed and played the leading role in Egypt’s first Arabic Rock Musical, “Leila the Musical” in 2017. In January 2019, Dalia sang for French President Emanuel Macron during his official visit to Cairo. She was the face of the “Peace Gala” at the Swiss Ambassador’s residence in London for 3 years during her studies.
She was artistic director of NWT Creative House from June 2019 to February 2020 and currently teaches vocal technique and performance in her private studio in Maadi. She’s conducted special workshops and master classes at the Royal Academy of Music, Luke Lehner Studios and the Lebanese American University as well as other arts and culture institutions. Dalia is a co-founder of Soft Power Productions and the All Saints Choir in Zamalek.
She writes and composes her original songs all available on iTunes, Spotify and Anghami. She was selected by Disney to play the Classical Arabic voice of "Cinderella" as well as the singing voice of "Peg" from the live adaptation of the movie "Lady and the Tramp". She is currently writing a new Arabic Musical Play scheduled to be performed in Spring 2023.
